Depression increases stroke risk
Depression significantly raises the risk of having a stroke , according to a new study. People with depression also face a higher risk of dying from a stroke. Though researchers say they aren't quite sure what's behind the link, they note that depression causes inflammation of the nervous and immune systems, which may increase stroke risk. Depression also raises the risk of diabetes and high blood pressure, which in turn raises the risk for stroke.
